Installation of a chosen EHR software package is an area that can create the greatest disruption to the day-to-day clinical operations of a physician practice. Disruptions during installtion can impact overall patient volume and short-term practice revenue while heightening staff frustration leading to under-utilization of the EHR product itself. With the Hielix physician team acting on our customer’s behalf during installation, the practice can maintain focus on patients and operations. During the installation of an EHR, the Hielix physician team:
- Provides project management support from kickoff to delivery, including the documentation of installation milestones and any potential impacts on the practice.
- Maintains the installation timeline with the EHR vendor/technology reseller and the practice staff. Through this process, the practice will understand the specific roles and responsibilities of all parties, including the role of the practice in ensuring a seamless transition to an EHR.
- Ensures limited disruptions in the practice’s day-to-day clinical responsibilities – resolving challenges and addressing questions proactively so not as to incur delays in installation.
- In addition, the Hielix physician team provides operational launch support for the practice, including the coordination of staff training and oversight for the first 15 days after product launch.
